Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Avocados are a fruit, ya know, but I wouldn’t call this a fruity dessert!  I would call it AMAZING though.  It’s the most unexpected combination with chocolate I’ve ever seen; it’s even more crazy than the Black Bean Brownies I posted a few weeks ago!  But like the brownies you’ve got to try this to really believe it.  The resulting smooth, creamy texture obviously comes from the avocado, but the flavor is sweet and chocolaty, exactly what you’d want in a mousse dessert.  The serving size is small because it is so rich.  In fact it’s so rich you could use it as frosting for muffins, brownies, sheet cake, etc.  Just don’t tell anybody that you’ve topped their favorite chocolate baked goody with avocado!!

Reminder:  avocados are all fat, but you’re likely aware that all that fat is darn good for your body, so don’t fret too much about the fat percentage because it’s over the top fatty.  Rather look at this recipe as a wholesome, non-dairy alternative that is busting the scales on monounsaturated fat, potassium and magnesium which all benefit your heart,  your blood vessels, and anywhere that needs some serious anti-inflammation rescue.  That’s pretty much everywhere!   Enjoy reading more about the mighty avocado here.
